by: CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - The horn-driven band Return Flight will perform  Saturday, Aug. 25, at Fairview on the Green.Fairview’s popular summer festival, Fairview on the Green, is back after taking a year off.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Fairview Community Park across from Fairview City Hall, 1300 N.E. Village St.,

Activities include an International Chili Society sanctioned chili contest; an arts and crafts festival area; and a beer and wine garden operated by local restaurant Bumpers.

The horn-driven band Return Flight will perform music from such artists as Stevie Wonder, Average White Band, the Ohio Players and Tower of Power.

Meanwhile, Ka Pa Hula O Kanaeaupuni will share Hawaiian culture through hula dance and music. DJ Scott Tom will provide entertainment and games.

The children’s area will feature many activities, including a rock wall. Food vendors will sell a variety of foods. And if that isn’t enough, zumba and line dancing has been added to the day’s activities.
