Twice a month, several members of Gresham Elks Lodge No. 1805 deliver comfort items to veterans at the Portland VA Medical Center.

This month, the group decided to bring the veterans something special.

On Tuesday, July 2, the group put together 75 duffel bags to give homeless vets at the hospital that included T-shirts, briefs, a pair of socks and a bag of shaving supplies.

The project was funded by a $1,000 grant from the Elks National Foundation and one of the Elks, Malia Bafford.
