Mortgage lender sets up shop at local bank

Paul Drinkwater recently joined the staff at Gresham’s Riverview Community Bank, providing on-site mortgage services to customers. Drinkwater

Drinkwater has been in the mortgage industry for 10 years. He specializes in refinances, low down payment purchases, Jumbo and government loans and credit repair.

Prior to establishing a full-time office at the Gresham branch, Drinkwater worked with customers part-time in Gresham and also at the bank’s Wood Village branch.

MBank announces $2.2 million capital boost

Merchants Bancorp, holding company for the Gresham-based MBank, recently completed a sale of preferred stock that yielded a $2.2 million increase in capital for the bank.

Funds will be used to pay interest on debt and bring the bank nearer to the 10 percent capital requirement of federal regulators.

Through an earnings turnaround, MBank returned to profitability in 2013, posting a profit every quarter since the first quarter of the year.
