GIRLS HOOPS - Reynolds blows out Sandy with a 20-point spurt in the first half
by: David Ball Reynolds Elle Stanfill dribbles around the perimeter during Friday’s 75-39 win.

The Reynolds girls basketball team poured in 20 straight points to put away Sandy by halftime en route to a 75-39 win in the third-place game at the Gresham holiday tournament Friday night.

The Raiders fell behind 7-4 early in the game before holding Sandy without a field goal for the next 12 minutes. The Pioneers were prompted to call time out late in the first quarter after Reynolds guard Kahdijah Lozada was left open in the corner for a 3 that stretched the lead to 10 points.

The break in play did little to disrupt a Reynolds run that carried well into the second quarter. It finished when Lozada fired a pass through a narrow window, and teammate Adrianna Davis spun away from the basket and converted a three-point play for a 24-7 lead.
