The Centennial girls basketball team took a big step toward locking up a 6A state playoff berth with its 35-33 home win over Barlow on Tuesday night.

The win gives the Eagles (5-2) a two-game cushion in the battle for third place and the league's final automatic spot to state, as the teams head into the second half of the MHC schedule.

After trading the lead three times in the first half, Centennial took control with a 9-2 spurt to start the third period. Megan Dailey highlighted the run with a deep 3-pointer - her second long ball of the night.
