DISTRICT SWIM PREVIEW - Douglas Douglas and Centennial boys battle for the district crown
by: David Ball Centennial’s Brandon Catabay takes a breath in the backstroke during the dual season.

The chase for the Mount Hood Conference boys swim trophy is expected to be a tight one when the teams hit the starting blocks for this weekend's district meet at Mt. Hood Community College.

Centennial and David Douglas are the two teams at the top with the Eagles pulling off a six-point win in a dual that featured several photo finishes two weeks ago. But district results are given greater weight, meaning whichever team comes out on top this weekend will claim the league title.

With the gap between the teams being so small, coaches were working overtime setting their lineups for the championship meet.

Prelims begin at 10 a.m. Friday with finals at 12 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $8 per session.

Look for our full preview, including a look at the girls meet, in the Feb. 8, edition of The Outlook.
