The Mt. Hood CC men's basketball team won three of four games at the Northwest championship tournament over the weekend, finishing with a 73-60 win over Yakima Valley in Tuesday's fifth-place matchup.

'Not many teams get to finish the year with a win,' Mt. Hood coach Geoff Gibor said. 'We felt like we were as talented a team as any up here.'

The Saints took control of the game with a 16-2 run at the end of the first half that saw Marcus Moore drain three shots from behind the arc, and center Spencer Clayton ram through a pair of dunks. The scoring spurt put Mt. Hood up 44-30 heading into the locker room.

Clayton finished with a team-high 26 points on 13 of 17 (.765) shooting to go along with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots....
