BOYS BASKETBALL- David Douglas fades late in the opening round of the 6A state championship

The David Douglas Scots had the look of a team that could upset No. 1 Jesuit. The Scots took the lead early in the second half and trailed by only three going into the fourth quarter. But the Crusaders fended off the Scots down the final stretch, to earn an opening round 54-45 win over the Scots in the 6A boys basketball state championship at the Rose Garden on Thursday.

The Scots will play at 3:15 on Friday at the Rose Garden in the consolation round. They will face the winner of North Medford versus South Medford.
