The work of Seattle-based artist and illustrator Sara Twitty is on display at the North Plains Public Library from June 1 through Aug. 2.

Twitty is a freelance artist who has worked on games, books and poster design. Her work includes the cover of “The Escape of Princess Madeline” (not pictured here) and its sequel, “The Battle for Princess Madeline,” scheduled for release May 21.

Written by North Plains author Kristin Pulioff, the books follow the adventures of a 16-year-old princess who rebels against her father’s attempt to choose a husband for her.

Twitty and Pulioff will both attend a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the library, 31334 N.W. Commercial St. in North Plains.

Twitty grew up on the fantasy films “Labyrinth” and “Dark Crystal.” She enjoys comic book conventions, and when she is not drawing or painting, she indulges in gaming, museums and cooking.
