Washington County Sheriff's deputies have detailed a possible suspect in a Friday homicide in the Cedar Mill community.

The name of the suspect was not immediately released.

The victim is Jacqueline Bell, 71.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, at 8:21 a.m. on Oct. 5, deputies received a call from a concerned citizen to check on the welfare of Bell at 10225 N.W. Lee St. When deputies arrived, they observed suspicious circumstances, entered the residence, and found Bell deceased from what appeared to be homicidal violence.

Deputies secured the scene and the Washington County Major Crimes Team responded to assist with the investigation. The Washington County Forensics Science Unit also responded, assisted by Oregon State Police Forensics to gather evidence and process the scene.

Investigators believe the suspect or suspects responsible were known to Bell. More than one person was in custody by Sunday that is believed to have knowledge and or involvement in the homicide. Although Washington County sheriff's detectives have not charged anyone with any crimes as of Sunday morning, there were no outstanding suspects at large.
