According to Hillsboro police spokesman Henry Reimann, a 25-year-old man threatened to jump from the top of the 6th-story parking garage on the corner of First Avenue and Washington Street, adjacent to the Civic Center, at about 7 a.m. A multi-agency crisis negotiations team coaxed the man down in less than an hour, said Reimann.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and the MAX resumed service around 8 a.m.
