Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee will oversee Hillsboro School District bond.

In addition to looking for a new school board member after the resignation of Wayne Clift last month, the Hillsboro School Board is looking for several members to sit on its Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee.

The committee, which will meet quarterly starting this spring, will advise the School Board on the progress of the district's $408 million capital construction bond, which voters approved in November.

Bond money will be used to build or remodel several schools in Hillsboro and North Plains and add safety improvements and new technology across the district. According to the Hillsboro School District, the committee will be composed of 15 community members and four high school students.

Applications are available on the district's website,, and will be accepted through Feb. 16. Members will be appointed by the School Board at its regular meeting on March 13.
