Theatre in the Grove will hold two nights of auditions this week for its upcoming production of “The Hobbit,” an adaptation for the stage of the classic children’s book by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Actors age “8 to 100 plus” are invited to read for parts. Auditions will be held in the theater’s Main Street Studio, 2011 Main Street, Forest Grove on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Ten to 26 cast members are needed.

Auditions will be cold readings from the script by Patricia Gray. Many of the roles are for actors of smaller stature.

“Because this is a production that will involve young actors as well as old, we want to encourage family involvement,” production manager Jeanna Van Dyke said.

The show will be performed two weekends, Jan. 17 to 19 and Jan. 24 to 26.

Daytime performances for schools are scheduled Jan. 21, 22 and 23.
