Hillsboro Holly Days happens Dec. 2
Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza in downtown Hillsboro will be bustling with holiday cheer and excitement on Dec. 2 as the city celebrates the holiday season with its annual Holly Days celebration.
Since 2008, the annual one-day festival has been bringing the community together for a festive kickoff to the holiday season.
The annual market begins at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, in downtown with dozens of local vendors offering unique handmade products. Carolers and other music groups will be performing throughout the day and Santa Claus himself will be on hand for family photos.
Restaurants and businesses downtown will also be open during regular business hours to give people a wide variety of food to choose from and to get a head start on holiday shopping.
Primrose & Tumbleweeds, 248 E. Main St., will host a special brunch with Santa Claus beginning at 9 a.m. The annual brunch will have plenty of kid-friendly options as well as mimosas and bloody Mary's for adults.
The day's activities all lead up to a special lighting of the city's 25-foot tree at the Civic Center Plaza, 150 E. Main St., at 5:30 p.m.
