Young, the HomeAid builder captain for the Portland Rescue Mission's Next Step expansion project was recognized as a Foundation Hero for his charitable service. Miller Paint and Rodda Paint both were recognized as Heroes for their generosity to the Painting a Better Tomorrow program.

'I want to thank all of those sponsors and attendees of the Carnival celebration in making this celebration such a success,' said Darin Honn, president of the HBF board. 'And I hope you take the opportunity to participate in other foundation projects and experiences, including the Trap Shoot in September and Painting a Better Tomorrow in November.'

The Home Builders Foundation, established in 1997, is the charity of choice for the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland. Its mission is to build transitional shelter for families in need and provide construction related educational opportunities for youth in need.
