West Linn's chef Pascal Chereau honored for Field and Vine dinners

Five leaders in local tourism were recognized recently by the Clackamas County Tourism Development Council (TDC) during a National Tourism Week event at the Mt. Hood Territory Tourism luncheon and recognition celebration held at the Museum of the Oregon Territory in Oregon City.

“These Partner Awards honor individuals and businesses that best demonstrate customer service, partnership and marketing practices that help promote Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory as a great place to visit,” Danielle Cowan, executive director of TDC, said.

Cheryl Maki of the Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum won the Individual Customer Service Award for her dedication to serving visitors and locals alike who come to the museum.

Photographer Gary Randall won the Marketing Innovation Award for his photo-tourism workshops that encourage both overnight visitation and the sharing of images that help promote the county’s scenic beauty.

Chef Pascal Chereau of Field and Vine Events in West Linn won the Product Development Award for Dinners in the Field events that bring food lovers to local farms for a real connection to their food.

The Partnership Award went to Mt. Hood Express, recognizing the numerous local, county and federal government agencies that worked with private businesses to bring about the transit system.

Teresa Christopherson of Clackamas County, who has been credited with being the driving force behind the creation of Mt. Hood Express, accepted the award.

The Chairman’s Award was given to Josef Fleischman of St. Josef’s Winery in recognition for the lifelong work he has done in developing and promoting local award-winning wine, vineyards and the creation of a beautiful tasting room and event venue.

“It was an honor to recognize such great individuals and organizations that work tirelessly to promote Clackamas County and everything we have to offer in the Mt. Hood region,” TDC vice-chair John Erickson said.

Tourism officials also gave an update on the latest marketing and development efforts from the department. To see the presentation or learn more visit
