by: SUBMITTED PHOTO: PAUL S. FARDIG   - Kirk Mouser is Chauncey Deville in Stumptown Stages's  production of 'Dracula A Musical Nightmare,'opening Oct. 25 at Portland Center for the Performing Arts. Stumptown Stages begins its eighth season with its production of “Dracula A Musical Nightmare.” The high camp version of the well-known story tells of hapless Jonathan Harker (Sammuel Hawkins) who visits the bloodthirsty count in his castle.

The production is set in the confines of a music hall. The playful ‘troupe’ is led by Chauncey DeVille (Kirk Mouser) and his assistants Faith (Anna Millburn), Hope (Bonnie Auguston) and Chastity (Heather Ovalle).

The musical previews Oct. 25 and opens Oct. 26 and runs through Nov. 11 in the Brunish Theatre at Portland Center for the Performing Arts, 1111 S.W. Broadway in Portland.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. A special Halloween performance is planned for 10 p.m. on Oct. 31. Tickets range in price from $15 to $30 plus handling fees. They can be purchased online at, or at the PCPA box office.
