Attend Eve on the Lake and give to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts

Nessa Sander is throwing a New Year’s Eve party the likes of which have not been seen before in Lake Oswego and she wants everyone to attend. It’s a party with a purpose, which Sander feels is the best way to start the new year. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

Sander said the idea to throw a New Year’s Eve benefit party came to her when she was making plans to commemorate the tenth anniversary of her business, Card Girl Invitations.

“I didn’t want to just have a party about me, I wanted to help somebody and then the hurricane hit,” she said.

With the assistance of event planner Whitney Werts, the Sander created the Eve on the Lake to be held at Stickmen Brewery and Skewery on Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

“We will be ‘dressing up’ the brewery to create an elegant evening for those who would like to stay in town for the night,” said Sander. “There will be a DJ, entertainment, dancing, endless hors d’oeuvres, a photo booth, champagne toast at midnight and fun surprises throughout the evening. We just signed Tom Grant to play.”

Grant and jazz singer Shelly Rudolph will perform from 8 to 10 p.m.

“It’s going to be a nice, special event for folks who don’t want to go downtown,” said Sander. “We’ve made arrangement with a local cab company to ensure good service throughout the night.”

The event is for the 21 and over crowd. Tickets are $69 per person Register online at or via the facebook page,
