The benefit performance will be held June 1 at 2 p.m. in the Lake Oswego High School Old Theatre, now the multi-purpose room in the building next to the pool. Tickets are $10 for adult, $5 for seniors and students.

“Holmes and Watson” features the intrepid sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his long-suffering colleague, Dr. John Watson, as they attempt to unravel a seemingly unrelated series of crimes plaguing London in the year 1890. The play begins with a locked room mystery as a painting is stolen from a museum. Then a young woman suddenly goes mad at a strange séance. Most dramatically, a murder is committed during a fencing match. Then the queen’s dog is stolen! Sherlock proceeds to solve each and every case with his skills of deduction and disguise, but the audience is in for a surprise as the sleuth of Baker Street reaches a final conclusion that ties all the crimes together.

Austin Ellerbach stars as Holmes and Darden Harmon appears as Watson. The cast includes students from Lake Oswego High School, Lakeridge Junior High, Lake Oswego Junior High, West Linn High School and The Park Academy.

Other performances are May 31 at 7:30 p.m., June 1 at 7:30 p.m. and June 2 at 2 p.m. Those performances are free.

The acting club, led by artistic director Bernie Duffy, has been providing after school productions for the community school for 12 years. Enrollment is open for summer day camps offered through the program. For information go to
