Enjoy improv drama with humor and TV spoofs this weekend at Funhouse Lounge

The Unscriptables, Portland's Unscripted Theatre Company, has settled into its new home at the Funhouse Lounge.

'It's one part bar, one part theater and all parts fun,' said Trenton Shine, co-owner of the new arts venue.

The Unscriptables upcoming shows include 'Secrets and Lies' and a crowd favorite 'UTV.'

'Secrets and Lies' is improvised drama in the style of 'Gods of Carnage' and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' Two couples at a dinner party all have secrets provided from the audience. Who reveals their secrets and what will happen when they do? This is a drama with humor. See it Jan. 27 at 8 p.m.

'UTV' is the Unscriptable's spoof of your favorite TV shows. With the help of the audience the cast creates five TV shows and commercials, with sound effects they flip through the channels seeing four minutes of each show. The audience then decides which show they want to see for the rest of the show and The Unscriptables finish that episode. It's a fast paced merge of short and long form improv. See 'UTV' Jan 28, Feb. 4 and 11 at 8 p.m.

All Unscriptable shows are 'pay what you want.'

The Funhouse Lounge is located at 2432 S.E. 11th in Portland.
