The Lake Oswego Craft and Art League (LOCAL 14) kicks off its 46th anniversary show and sale on Oct. 3 with a special First Night, First Sight opening and auction from 6 to 9 p.m. at the World Forestry Center.

The exhibit continues Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The theme of this year’s show is Fins, Feathers and Fur and guests attending the Thursday evening event can see how the artists have interpreted those ideas and then bid for their favorite piece in a silent auction to raise funds to support the show and its scholarship program. The opening night affair is traditionally a benefit to support scholarships for emerging and evolving artists. Admission to this event is $10 which, along with refreshment sales, goes to the scholarship fund.

Fourteen women founded the Lake Oswego Crafts and Art League 46 years ago and the name became the acronym LOCAL 14. The 45-plus members now invite 45-plus guests for a much larger show, featuring artistry in painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, pottery, blown and fused glass, jewelry, basketry, metalwork, weaving, wearable art, wood, quilts, dolls, beadwork, paper and poetry.

The World Forestry Center is located at 4033 SW Canyon Road in Portland.

Kris Zorkos notebooks will also be for sale.
