McCamish received her BFA degree in art with a concentration in photography from Marylhurst this month. She will be continuing her education at Concordia University this summer, working toward a Master of Art degree in teaching.

Her work has been included in various exhibitions, including the 2011 Student Art Annual at the Archer Gallery in Vancouver, Wash., and Photolucida’s “Then. Now. Here.” screenings throughout Portland.

McCamish has composed a series of large abstract color photographs called “Possible Perspectives.” Her images blur the urban environment and natural surroundings, allowing viewers to see and perceive the environment in a nonliteral way.

“Anytime our fundamental assumptions about time and space are altered, we must occupy a less comfortable place in our mind, one that invites new conceptual approaches and, in this case, new perceptions as well,” she said.

Pieces from her thesis will also be presented at the Recent Graduates exhibition at Blackfish Gallery in Portland during July.

The Marylhurst exhibits will continue through June 15.
