Special children’s programs to be presented at library

Charles the Clown will present a show of magic, balloon antics and comic rhyming at the Lake Oswego Public Library at 3 p.m. June 18. Charles the Clown, also known as Charles Kraus, presents a language-rich experience for children and is an award-winning video artist.

The Friendly Little Unicorn will be presented by Dragon Theater Puppets at 3 p.m. June 25.

Both shows are free, courtesy of the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. The library is located at 706 Fourth St., Lake Oswego.

Lavitz to present lots of music in June

West Linn musician Kenny Lavitz has a number of shows planned throughout the month of June.

June 13 he will play at Denny’s in Wilsonville, located at 30175 SW Parkway Ave., with AudioAvi8r starting at 8 p.m.

The Kenny Lavitz Kombo plays June 14 at 9 p.m. at Spud Monkey’s Bar and Grill, 17312 NE Halsey St., Portland.

You can catch him June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Milwaukie Farmers Market, at Main and Harrison streets.

June 18 Lavitz will play solo guitar at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, 4805 SW 229th Ave. in Aloha beginning at 6 p.m. He will play solo guitar at Mark’s on the Channel, 34326 Johnson Landing, Scappoose beginning at 8:30 p.m. June 21 and close out the month with another solo performance at The Oregon Gardens Resort, 895 W. Main St., Silverton beginning at 9 p.m. June 28.

Friends of Stafford to hold evening of poetry

The Friends of William Stafford and the Lake Oswego Public Library will present an evening of poetry honoring William Stafford at 7 p.m. June 17 at the library, 706 Fourth St.

Poets Patty Wixon and Vince Wixon will read with Tim Barnes as emcee.

The public is invited to attend this free event.
