“We did a lot of planning,” said math teacher Derek Abbott, who advises the group. “We looked throughout the year and had each director/class start to plan out their events and brainstorm for other events and fundraisers. This year we are blessed to have Matt White, ASB president, and Kevin Mertz, ASB vice president, to lead the charge. These two guys are in their fourth year of ASB, so their wisdom is so valuable to the entire group. They were able to suggest, focus and train the new and younger members.”

Abbott said the group has vowed to lead the student body with the idea that all individuals have a purpose at the school, to reach excellence in academics, arts, athletics and working in the community.

“I do believe that this ASB crew has the potential to be the most influential ASB that I have seen in my nine years at Lakeridge,” Abbott said.
