Students were evacuated from the school after a fire alarm was activated at about 1:15 p.m.

School officials who called 9-1-1 reported that the fire was in a school restroom. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the hallway and restroom in the gym.

Although school personnel extinguished the flames, soot and smoke remained.

Students were allowed back into the main building shortly after firefighters arrived. The fire department remained at the scene for about an hour to help clear out the LAKE OSWEGO FIRE DEPARTMENT - A fire caused about $2,000 in damage to a Lake Oswego High School bathroom on Monday.

The fire caused an estimated $2,000 in damage to the restroom.

Investigators, believing the incident was "human caused," have turned the case over to police.
