STAFFORD HAMLET The Stafford Hamlet will hold an election for board members at a meeting on Saturday.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., candidates for open board seats will be available for questions, and at 10:15 a.m. they ll each present five-minute statements about why they re running for a position. Voting will take place between 9:30 and 11 a.m., with votes being counted starting at 11 a.m. Elected members will be announced between 11:45 a.m. and noon, according to the hamlet. The meeting will take place at Stafford Primary School, 19875 SW Stafford Road in West Linn.

The hamlet board is a county-recognized body covering the area between Lake Oswego, Tualatin and West Linn. More information is available at

CITY COUNCIL — The Lake Oswego City Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss finance and design of Boones Ferry Road improvements and to hold a public hearing on an appeal of the historical resources board s denial of a proposal to remove the historic landmark designation from the Carman House. The meeting will take place at city hall, 380 A Ave.
