Another fallen tree blocked traffic on A Avenue.High winds coupled with rain-soaked ground teamed up to knock over several big trees in Lake Oswego Thursday.

The most serious incident occurrred on 601 Middlecrest Road on the south side of Lakewood Bay when a giant tree fell on a house owned by the Garrett family and caused major damage to an upstairs bedroom. A potential tragedy was averted because a daughter in the family was at school.

A huge tree fell across A Avenue near Our Lady of the Lake School on Thursday morning, blocking three lanes of traffic. Lake Oswego firefighters were extremely careful in handling the situation because the trees knocked down a power line.
