TEEN POETRY SLAM (DEC. 7): Local teen poets will gather at the Lake Oswego Public Library (706 Fourth St.) 7 o'clock tonight for a Teen Poetry Slam. Participants are invited to bring their favorite poems to share, debut an original creation or read song lyrics from their phones — just about anything goes! Snacks will be provided.
ARTS & CRAFTS STUDIO (DEC. 9): On Saturday mornings, the focus is on art at the Lake Oswego Public Library (706 Fourth St.). Bring an art or craft project to work on, browse the library's collection of art and craft books, talk to other artists, explore art online or get technical help with projects and research techniques. Bring your own supplies or use the library's drawing supplies; no registration is required for the studio, which starts at 9 a.m.

THE STUMPTOWNERS (DEC. 13): Celebrate the winter solstice from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake Oswego Public Library (706 Fourth St.) with a concert by The Stumptowners, a Portland-based Celtic band. Ancient carols and wassail songs will be blended with traditional Irish dance for a perfect winter seasonal performance, and it's free.
