Police, Fire add new employees
Firefighter Lucas Fortune joined the Lake Oswego Fire Department and two new officers — Brad Moyle and Josh Loesche — joined the Lake Oswego Police Department in January.
After completing 200 hours of training as part of the LOFD's training academy, Fortune will be assigned to an LOFD engine company. He grew up in Welches and graduated from Sandy High School before receiving dual degrees in
Fire Technology and Paramedicine from Central Oregon Community College. He also served as an intern firefighter with La Pine Fire and as a firefighter for the Baker City Fire Department.
Moyle comes to the LOPD from the West Linn Police Department, bringing 15 years of law enforcement experience with him; he is currently in training and will be on the streets of Lake Oswego soon. Loesche worked for a number of years at Mountain Park Church as a youth pastor and has also served as a reserve police officer with the City of Tualatin; he is scheduled to attend the state Police Academy soon.
In addition, the LOPD has announced two promotions: Community Service Officer Paul Valesano is at the Police Academy now, training for his new role as a police officer; and intern Johnna Richards, who recently graduated from Portland State University, will replace Valesano as a Community Service Officer.
