Share your opinion about the City's draft Climate Action Plan at an Open House on Thursday night

ACC KITCHEN CLOSURE: The kitchen at the Adult Community Center (505 G Ave.) remains closed while workers install a new slip-resistant floor. Until the work is completed, meals usually served at the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will be served at the Municipal Golf Course (17525 S.W. Stafford Road) instead; reservations can still be made by calling 503-635-3758, and shuttle rides to the golf course will be available if arranged in advance. Meals on Wheels drivers will also pick up their meals at the golf course, but the food will be delivered as usual. All other scheduled programs and services will continue during construction at the ACC; no cancellations are anticipated.

CLIMATE ACTION PLAN (March 1): Community members are invited to learn about a draft Climate Action Plan compiled for the City and provide their input at an Open House scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at City Hall (380 A Ave.). The plan addresses transportation, housing, consumption, natural resources and other action areas; it was crafted by a committee representing the Sustainability Advisory Board and the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network after the City Council made it a goal for 2017.

FIRST FRIDAY FILMS (MARCH 2): The First Friday Film Discussion Group will meet from 2-4 p.m. Friday at the Lake Oswego Public Library (706 Fourth St.) to watch and discuss a movie from the Film Movement series, which specializes in foreign and independent films. The free event is for ages 18 and over; call 503-675-2540 to register.

EAST WALUGA PARK (MARCH 3): Join the Friends of Waluga Park from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday as they plant native species and restore natural habitats. Plants, shovels and supplies will be available; volunteers should dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes and bring gloves and water to drink. DADDY DAUGHTER DINNER AND DANCE (MARCH 3): Fathers and daughters are invited to don their best attire and journey down the rabbit hole from 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday at "Twilight in Wonderland," the Parks and Recreation Department's annual dinner and dance. The cost is $55 for resident couples, $69 for non-residents; additional siblings (the event is designed for kids ages 3-13) can join the fun for $20 residents/$30 non-residents.
