University will host a transfer information session on campus Thursday, with 23 colleges expected to attend

REVIEW PHOTO: VERN UYETAKE - Marylhurst University announced last week that it will cease all operations by the end of 2018.Marylhurst University has mailed out more than 700 individualized packets to students that include advising worksheets, unofficial transcripts and vouchers for free official transcripts. Students have also been meeting with advisers to discuss the next steps for transitioning to a new institution.

Twenty-three schools are expected to be in attendance at a transfer information session scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Marylhurst. Some of those schools are already offering special tuition discounts, scholarships and more.

Linfield College says it is prepared to provide transcript review, academic advising and information about admission and financial aid to Marylhurst students on an expedited basis, for example. George Fox University's Adult Degree Program will accept 100 percent of Marylhurst credits, waive application fees from Marylhurst transfers and expedite their applications.
