JEFFERSON PARKWAY CONSTRUCTION: The stretch of Jefferson Parkway from Westlake Drive to Spinosa is expected to be closed through mid-July as paving work continues in segments along the entire thoroughfare. In early July, the road will be closed between Spinosa and Abelard Street. Later this summer, the work will again shift to the east, from Abilard to just east of Kerr Parkway. In all cases, the work will involve reconstruction of the road surface, curb ramp replacements, new signs and striping. Crews generally will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., and some Saturdays. Paving days may have later hours, if needed, and when the road has been ground down, full road closures with detours will be in place 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Watch for signage changes and plan to use alternate routes. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/JeffersonParkway.
D AVENUE PROJECT: Most of the utility work has been completed for the D Avenue Improvement Project, with the last work items scheduled to be finished in the next week. Some of the utility work areas included portions of First, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth streets. Those segments are scheduled to be restored in mid-July. The project will also transition to the street excavation phase in mid-July with major excavation work on D Avenue itself, which will result in full closures of the road at all times for a period of up to two months. The closures will likely begin at First Street and continue towards Tenth Street. Some road closures near the project are subject to change on a daily basis. Up-to-date information about road closures can be viewed on the project's website at www.d-ave.org.
ATWATER ROAD CLOSURE: Clackamas County is expected to continue closing Southwest Atwater Road between Knaus Road and Boca Ratan Drive during the day through Oct. 1 for installation of a sewer line. The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will reopen each night and on weekends. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access to the road during construction hours; all other traffic will be required to follow the detour route.
