Holiday papers have early deadlines for opinion writers

Early deadlines will come into play for opinion writers to the Lake Oswego Review in late December and early January. Because the newspaper will be on an early production schedule both weeks, it is necessary that we change our deadlines.

Opinion deadlines essentially will move up two full work days for both of these editions.

To help people prepare, here are the opinion deadlines for the Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 newspapers:

  • For the Dec. 26 Review, please submit all opinion content no later than 3 p.m. today.

  • For the Jan. 2 Review, please submit all opinion content no later than 3 p.m. on Dec. 26.

    Opinion pieces may be emailed directly to the Review at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Writers must include their names, addresses and phone numbers in order to be published. Opinion pieces also may be mailed to us or hand delivered but preference will be given during the holidays to opinion pieces that are electronically submitted.

    Word limits for opinion pieces are:

  • 200 words for a political letter to the editor;

  • 300 words for a letter to the editor; and

  • 550 words for a citizen’s view.

    Deadlines will return to normal for the Jan. 9 Review, meaning we will accept opininon pieces up until 3 p.m. Jan. 6.
