by: DAVID BALL - Kyle McCormick looks to escape a tackle during the Lake Oswego Harriers easy win over North Clackamas for third place in the summer 7s rugby league. The Lake Oswego Harriers blew out North Clackamas 65-7 on Saturday to claim third place in the summer 7s rugby league.

Kyle McCormick set the tone early with a length-of-the-field run in the game’s opening minute, and teammate Willy Saunders added another sprint through the middle of the field for a 12-0 lead less than two minutes into the game.

Lake Oswego would never trail.

The team took a 26-7 lead into halftime, sparked by the most impressive try of the day when Brendon Curle took a loose ball off the bounce and out ran three tacklers down the sideline 50 yards before cutting to the center of the field to set up an easy conversion kick.

Lake Oswego put up seven more tries over the final 10 minutes to put the finishing touches on its victory.

The team dropped a 52-12 decision to Reynolds in the semifinals earlier in the day.

Lincoln High won the title with a 35-24 win over Reynolds, while Portlandia claimed the girls crown with a 36-22 win over Southside.
