Both boys and girls teams turn in fast times in victory

Both Lake Oswego swim teams had strong showings last week against Oregon City in the second league meet of the year.

The Laker girls got impressive performances across the board. After winning the 200 medley relay, the Lakers got a victory in the 200 freestyle from Lauren Wagner by nearly eight seconds.

Abby Lyons then won her first individual race of the night, the 200 individual medley, followed by teammates Madison Luick and Jeske Paanakker.

Lake Oswego also went 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle with Yifan Mao winning, followed by Amy Chen and Bailey Goodell.

Mao would also capture the 100 freestyle, finishing in 57.04 seconds while teammates Madison Goodall and Goodell took second and third.

Wagner scored her second individual win of the night in the 500 freestyle, as did Lyons later on in the 100 breaststroke by four seconds over her closest competitor.

The Lakers would also sweep all three relays in the lopsided victory.

For the boys, Ryan Sklar scored an easy win in the 200 freestyle, as did Luke Marshall in the following race, the 200 IM.

Just like the girls, the Laker boys swept the 50 freestyle with Aaron Perrine winning, followed by Lucas Rodgers and Sklar.

Edward Kang would win the 100 butterfly in 55.15 seconds and he would later cruise to a victory in the backstroke, followed by teammates Austin Weng and Juhwan Seo, in another 1-2-3- finish for the Lakers.

Marshall then nabbed his second individual win, claiming the 100 breaststroke by nearly six seconds.

Lake Oswego wrapped up the evening with a dominating victory in the 400 freestyle relay.
