The LO boys win again while the girls shoot their best round of the season

The Lake Oswego boys golf team nearly matched its best team score of the season on Monday at Stone Creek en route to another tournament victory.

The Lakers didn't have to count a score higher than 74 on the afternoon and both Madey brothers finished with scores under par.

Cole Madey led the way with medalist honors, shooting a 70. That score was just one stroke off his best of the season. Clayton Madey shot a 71, also just one stroke shy of his best round of the year.

Alex Wrenn and Brock Anderson each had round of 74. Anderson's round matched his best effort this year.

The team's score of 289 was enough to win by 15 strokes.

For Lakeridge, Jake Reif had easily his best round of the season, finishing under par with a 71. Cade Lawson fired an 80 and John Grace shot 87, his best round of the year.

In his first tournament of the season, Brenden Bradley shot 90 for the Pacers.

In the girls' tournament at Langdon Farms, Lake Oswego continued to drop its team score, shooting a 365 in what was easily its best showing of the season.

The mark was good enough to finish in a tie for second place with Canby.

Alexa Huewe led the way with an 83, topping her previous best score of the year by 11 strokes. Stephanie Bell shot a 92, Jessica Lee fired a 94, Claire Carter shot 96 and Taylor Yob shot a 97 as all five of the team's varsity players finished under 100 for the first time this season.

Lakeridge's Sonya Swanson also had a good day, topping her best score of the year with a 97.

Both teams have just one regular season tournament remaining. The boys will play at Oswego Lake Country Club next week and the girls will play at Oregon Golf Club.
