Lakeridge cruises to a pair of victories in the competitive meet

The Pacer boys and girls each knocked off West Linn in convincing fashion last week as they move into the stretch run of the season.

The Pacer girls won 104-66 against a Lions' team that hopes to be a state contender this year. West Linn was missing one of its top performers in the meet but Lakeridge was very impressive from top to bottom.

The Pacers' team of Rowan Hauber, Brenda Cha, Keaton Blovad and Sonya Ahmadyar won the medley relay in a strong time of 1:52.70.

Two races later, Cha outlasted West Linn's Robin Pinger in the individual medley, winning in 2:10.62.

Blovad then captured the 50 freestyle by nearly two seconds in 24.86.

Lakeridge would sweep the 100 butterfly. Cha won in 1:00.65 followed closely by Noelle Foden-Vencil and Dorothy Wang.

Blovad and Jordynn Canelis then went 1-2 in the 100 freestyle as the Pacers started to pull away.

Ahmadyar and Foden-Vencil tallied another 1-2 finish in the 500 freestyle and Lakeridge would wrap up the evening with a five-second victory in the 400 freestyle relay.

For the boys, Lakeridge's depth picked up big points for the team in a 103-64 win.

In the first individual event, Sam Swaim won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.63, followed by teammates Owen Hart and Nick Neville.

Lakeridge would get another sweep in the 50 freestyle with Joey McCommish winning in 24.55 and Zach Wyman and Nicholas Lauritsen taking second and third.

Lakeridge's 200 freestyle relay team of Alex Schaffer, McCommish, Sam Swaim and Wyman won by more than five seconds in 1:41.58 while Max Swaim, Hart and Neville scored a 1-2-3 finish in the breaststroke.

Lakeridge capped the evening with Jeremy Ackerman, Jackson Waste and Max and Sam Swaim winning the 400 freestyle relay in 3:44.80 seconds.
