Lions’ White Cane safety day set for Oct. 13

On Oct. 13, the Lake Grove Lions Club will promote safety and awareness for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians that a white cane identifies a blind or visually impaired person. The white cane provides the blind person a legal status and priority in the street or on the sidewalk and extra caution should be exercised for any blind person carrying a white cane.

The Lions will be distributing white cane badges and taking donations for their work providing assistance for eye exams, glasses and medical operations for visually impaired needy Oregonians at Starbucks coffee locations and Albertsons Lake Grove store on Oct. 13.
