Family and Community Together (FACT) and Region 1 DD Training Co-op will present “Understanding Guardianship of People With Disabilities” on Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Willamette Falls Community Center auditorium, 519 15th St., Oregon City. Leslie Sutton, J.D., policy analyst for the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities will be the presenter.

The program will help self-advocates, families and members of the support community learn the basics about guardianship and its alternatives so they can decide if it is right for them. Topics to be discussed include what guardianship is and what it does, how you get it and what a guardian can and cannot do. The training is free, however registration is required.
