The Newcomers Welcome Club of Lake Oswego, West Linn and surrounding areas was honored recently by the Senior Council of Clackamas County by being the recipient of its 2013 Citizen for Seniors Award. The Newcomers Welcome Club has donated more than $26,000 to the SCCC along with goods for seniors.

The Portland Women’s Foundation also received the award.

“These two caring groups have gone above and beyond in helping our organization and local seniors,” said SCCC Executive Director Christi Bird. “They have both been among our top supporters for many years and we appreciate all they do for us.”

The SCCC provides services for homebound, frail, vulnerable and geographically isolated individuals in Clackamas County.
