Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the average American will gain 5 to 7 pounds. To support the “battle of the bulge,” the fitness pros at Trainer’s Club in Lake Oswego are hosting the annual Huffer Puffer Turkey Stuffer Power Pilgrim Sculpting Settler boot camp on Thanksgiving morning.

“It’s a 90-minute workout with participation of 100 to 200 people,” Trainer’s Club owner Jennifer Lakey said. “This is our 10th one. Everyone has a lot of fun, gets a great workout and we collect barrels of food for the Oregon Food Bank. There is a great community spirit, and people feel really good about themselves because they’re working off calories in preparation for stuffing them back in.”

The boot camp will run 8 to 9:30 a.m. Nov. 28. Participants are requested to bring donations of canned foods for the Oregon Food Bank. To sign up, call the center at 503-636-3900.

The Trainer’s Club is located at 333 S. State St., Lake Oswego.
