West Linn Parks and Recreation offers a variety of yoga, tai chi and meditation classes, wonderful tools for physical rejuvenation and to reclaim your mental focus. The staff is especially gratified by the longstanding partnership with Sachi Wellness, located in the historic area of West Linn, to provide the restorative type of wellness programs that will have you eager to unplug from technology and reconnect to self.

Sachi Wellness offers classes seven days a week. Here is an introduction of the instructors and description of their specialties.

Julie Richardson, personal trainer and registered dietician, teaches aerobic boot camp classes.

Maia Evart has been teaching Egyptian belly dancing and performing in the Portland area since 1996. You can learn more about her at

Jessica Baker brings an abundance of energy to her Saturday morning yoga and movement classes. She is a performer with AWOL aerial dance group.

Sarah Colarchik earned an International Yoga Alliance certificate in 2007 and also holds a group fitness certificate from the American Council on Exercise. She focuses on safety and personal growth in her yoga classes.

Kristin Fein’s love for the healing energies of yoga lead her to earn a certification through the Movement Center in Portland in 2011.

Specialized training in prenatal yoga brings a gentle and peaceful air to her classes. Pregnant women are welcome.

Here is the schedule of what these instructors offer:

Yoga — Intermediate is designed for those with some yoga experience. Special attention given to postural alignment, core strength and pose breakdowns while incorporating twists, inversion and balance work. Fee $81 for nine weekly sessions. Meets 9 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday or Thursday starting April 1 and 3.

Yoga for Mind, Body and Spirit — focuses on the conscious expression of movement, inner awareness and purposeful use of breath. Prenatal students are encouraged to participate to gain knowledge of helpful techniques for the birthing process. Fee $81 for nine weekly sessions. Meets 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesdays or noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays beginning April 2 and 3.

Saturday Morning Yoga Flow — Start your weekend with an invigorating dance of movement and breathe work. The instructor will help students tailor the poses to their experience and ability. Fee is $81 for nine weekly sessions. Meets 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. April 5.

Intro to Belly Dance ages 12 and up — Learn basic belly dance torso movement, steps and rhythms. Fee $75. Meets noon to 1:30 p.m. Fridays beginning April 18 for six weeks.

Discovering Your Roots — Learn yoga teachings based on Hatha with a touch of Anusara, Shri Daiva and Iyengar and the philosophies that complete the radiating consciousness. Some experience suggested. Fee $81. Meets 6 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesdays beginning April 2.
