Men leaping from a plane above West Linn’s Willamette Park? It’s a tradition worth keeping; so deemed the 2009 Old Time Fair Court when cutting the skydiver from the Old Time Fair was considered as a means to reducing the festival’s expenses.

Since then, the Old Time Fair Court has made it part of its mission to ensure that the name of the new queen would be delivered to the coronation ceremony by a man brave enough to jump out of a perfectly good plane.

In addition to selling the business-sponsored fair court poster to help cover participation expenses, the court has added cotton candy sales at the West Linn Farmer’s Market on Wednesday nights. Look for them every week through July 9 and again at the Street Dance on Saturday, July 12. Your support of these hardworking young ladies is appreciated.

If you are still wondering what the kids will do all summer, consider Fun in the Sun day camp held weekdays at Hammerle and Willamette parks. Kids will have fun with friends, stay active and enjoy weekly field trips to local attractions. Learn more online at
