Friends of Doernbecher's Winefest set for April 28
Oswego Friends of Doernbecher will host its annual Winefest fundraising event April 28 at Oswego Lake Country Club. The event features a silent auction with donations from more than 50 wineries throughout the Pacific Northwest, plus dinner and entertainment.
Tickets are $75 per person and are available online at oswegofriends.net.
Funds generated at the event will provide grants for Doernbecher faculty and staff to implement new programs, services and research to improve patient care and quality of life. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at OLCC, located at 20 Iron Mountain Blvd., Lake Oswego.
Since 1990, Friends of Doernbecher has raised more than $16 million for Doernbecher Children's Hospital. The Oswego Friends chapter has been involved for 25 years in Lake Oswego and the Portland area.

Eat burritos to benefit Children's Cancer Association
Help raise funds for the Children's Cancer Association by eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in Oregon and southwest Washington between10:45 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, April 13. Customers need to mention the fundraiser before paying.
Children's Cancer Association helps 28,000 children, teens and their families each year through music, companionship, financial support and nature program.
Bring recyclables to WL Rotary on April 21
West Linn Rotary is hosting a free recycling event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Hammerle Park, 1505 Lewis St. in West Linn.
Club members urge citizens to clean out their closets and bring electronics, reusable household goods and furniture to the event. Electronics can include computers, TVs, monitors, printers, keyboards and mice. Furniture can include usable bed frames, sofas, chairs and tables.
The group cannot take large appliances and console electronics or mattresses.
Franz Bakery will have a food truck on site, providing free grilled cheese sandwiches to anyone who recycles items.
