The cause of the fatal crash on SR 211 near milepost 1 is still under investigation.

A Molalla man was killed in a head-on collision Saturday night, according to Oregon State Police.

At approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on SR 211 near milepost 1.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Robert C. Lowe, 57, of Molalla, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Sol southbound on the highway when he crossed the center-line and collided head-on with a northbound 1998 Honda Civic.

Lowe was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, Amanda Hartman, 32, of Eugene, was airlifted to Oregon Health and Sciences University with critical injuries. The passenger of the Honda, Matthew Welch, 39, of Chimacum, Washington, was transported by ambulance to OHSU with serious injuries, according to Oregon State Police.

Oregon State Police officers were assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Clackamas County Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
