The Grand Jury has charged the Colton Fire Chief's daughter with two counts related to the alleged Jan. 9 theft and crash

CLACKAMAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Courtney Beaudoin was taken into custody in Clatsop County on Jan. 9 after she reportedly crashed a Colton Fire rig.Courtney Beaudoin, daughter of Colton Fire Chief Richard Beaudoin, has been charged in the case of the chief's stolen and totaled duty rig.

On Jan. 9, Richard Beaudoin signed and filed a police report when he discovered his duty rig had been stolen. An Oregon State Police log entry from that day shows that Courtney Beaudoin crashed a vehicle near Seaside, Oregon. She was then taken into custody, given a mental health evaluation and held in Clatsop County Jail, Marion County Jail and Clackamas County Jail for a total of 20 days.

On April 11, according to the indictment, the Grand Jury for Clatsop County accused Courtney of two counts in relation to the events on Jan. 9: unauthorized use of a vehicle, a class C felony, and criminal mischief in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The indictment shows that Courtney was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle because on Jan. 9, in Clatsop County, she allegedly took and drove a Colton Fire rescue vehicle without consent of the owner, which is the Colton Fire Department.

She was charged with criminal mischief, according to the indictment, because again on Jan. 9, she allegedly "did unlawfully and recklessly cause damage to a Colton Fire rescue vehicle in an amount greater than $500."

The fire department's insurance company declared the chief's rig as totaled and paid out a claim of $17,001, according to Colton Fire's Board Chair Joyce Parker at the Feb. 13 board meeting.

Courtney's arraignment is set for May 4 at 8:30 a.m., according to the circuit court calendar.
