The new platform for the city seeks to make the online process more intuitive and easier to use

The City of Molalla has unveiled a new website.

Molalla has a new easy-view website.

If you haven't checked out the City of Molalla's new website, it's time to do that. The city replaced its old website with one that's cleaner and easier to view. The main difference is finding meetings, forms, reports and other items and events easier and more convenient.

For example, viewing the website's first page lets users find news, events and meetings with one touch.

There are also sections to click on showing the monthly calendar as well as paying bills, checking out reports and documents and even finding the most recent wastewater treatment improvements. Four items—Our Community, Doing Business, City Departments and Your Government remain at the top of the page.

"The city's 'new' website is really more of a website upgrade and remodel. I believe the real improvement is its organization, and the new site makes it much, much easier for the user to find information," City Manager Dan Huff told the Pioneer.

The remodeled site was designed by Municode, formerly Aha Consulting Inc. in Lake Oswego.

"We designed their older website when we were Aha Consulting," said Jarrod Hallmark. "We redesigned it this time to freshen it up and make it look newer. It now responds to all electronic devices from mobile phones to tablets, to laptops and to desktops."

Additionally, the site now meets Americans with Disabilities requirements allowing the visually impaired to navigate the website, Hallmark said. One of the more important changes is the clickable elements on the Home Page, he said, while the most upgraded changes are on the staff.

"We made it easier to update items for them," Hallmark added.

Start to finish it took about four months, he said, the changes began in early January and were up on the site by the first of April.
