What's Up: June 13-19
The Wings of Freedom tour will bring WWII vintage airplanes to Aurora State Airport June 15-17. The tour features vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell and North American P-51 Mustang. Cost is $5 for children ages 12 and under and $15 for adults. Visitors may also experience a unique opportunity to take a 30-minute flight aboard the aircraft. Flights on either the B-17 or B-24 are $450 per person. B-25 flights are $400 per person. P-51 flight training is $2,200 for a half-hour, $3,200 for a full hour. For reservations and information on flight experiences, call 800-568-8924.
The Molalla Area Historical Society is having a courtyard sale on June 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MAHS, located at 620 S. Molalla Ave. There will be quilts, quilting supplies, antiques, collectables and more. For more information, call 503-765-6432.
AZTEC DANCE PERFORMANCE
The Molalla Public Library invites the community to a special dance performance on Saturday, June 16 at 2 p.m. The Aztec themed dance troupe Danza Azteca Huitzilopochtli will perform music, dance and provide interactive teaching including a quick introduction to the indigenous Aztec language Nahuatl.
ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL
The Annual Strawberry Festival, dinner and silent auction is taking place on Saturday, June 16 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Beavercreek UCC, "The Ten O'Clock Church at 23345 S. Beavercreek Rd. in Beavercreek. Dinner includes BBQ chicken, scalloped potatoes, salad, green beans, bread, beverage and of course strawberry shortcake with ice cream. Strawberries are donated by Albeke Farms. Dinner prices are: 13yrs & up - $12, 6-12yrs - $8, 5 & under - free (donations accepted). The Silent Auction will again have many great items to bid on. This event is for the whole family, especially for dads to celebrate Father's Day weekend. Proceeds help support our church missions including our Food Pantry and Summer Camp Youth Programs. The Oregon Renaissance Faire continues Saturday and Sunday, 16-17, at the Clackamas County Event Center. This week's theme will be "Valiant of the Vale: Honor Your Hero." Molalla Church of the Nazarene invites the community to Storytime in the Park every Tuesday morning from June 19 through Aug. 28 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Fox Park. There will be a children's Bible story, Popsicles and a game or craft.
