Fourth of July Events
July 1-4 all day at Buckeroo Grounds- This year's rodeo will highlight its bullfighters, the reitring Rowdy Barry and Buckeroo mainstay "Dangerous" Dan Newman.
June 30 to July 3 at 1 p.m. and July 4 at 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Clark Park- The carnival features both daring and kid-friendly rides.
July 3-4 starting at 10 p.m. at Long Park- The meal includes eggs cooked to order, ham and fixings. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under.
July 4 at 9:20 a.m. starting at Heckard Field- The race begins at the high school track and follows the Giant Street Parade route.
GIANT STREET PARADE
July 4 after 5K- Molalla's big event will follow the usual route beginning at the intersection of Cole Ave. and Heintz St. Watch for floats, cars, bands, dancers and more.
ANNUAL CHICKEN BBQ
July 4 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church- The chicken BBQ is a 40-year tradition featuring chicken half for $7 and a full meal of chicken half, baked potato, cole slaw, roll and dessert for $11.
ANNUAL HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
July 4 from 2-3 p.m. at Pip's Gourmet Hot Dogs & Ice Cream- How many beef hot dogs can you eat in five minutes? 5? 10? 20? Come help raise money to feed community veterans while trying to claim the title. The $10 entry fee goes toward feeding local veterans. Winner gets a $25 Pip's gift card and the title of Champ for the year. Must be signed up by 1 p.m. July 4. Must be 18 or older or with signed consent form to participate.
Visit the Molalla Library to paint mandalas on rocks on Saturday, July 7 at 2 p.m. Of course, if you don't want to paint a mandala, you're free to paint something else. This program is for grade six through adult.
LEGO CLUB BINGO
Do you feel lucky? LEGO Club has prizes. Join hosts and friends for an afternoon of BINGO followed by LEGO building on Tuesday, July 10 from 2-4 p.m. at the Molalla Public Library.
