Molalla River School District Board will consider school's recommendation Thursday

A new Molalla High School head football coach has been selected by administrative officials and is currently waiting for approval, or denial, from the school board.

According to principal Randy Dalton, the candidate, currently remaining unnamed until later this week, will be approved or denied by the Molalla River School District Board on Thursday, May 25.

Earlier this month, athletic director Tyler Kelleher said he had hopes that a new coach would be hired by the first or second week of May in order to facilitate summer workouts in preparation for the season.

Dalton said information on the school board's decision is expected to be released on Friday, May 26, as the Pioneer goes to press for our early deadline due to the Memorial Day holiday.

This story will be updated with new information when it becomes available.
